What kind of running shoes should I get for running on a treadmill?

I got a treadmill for christmas and need new running shoes. Today I am going to go purchase some, but what kind are good for running on a treadmill?

Going to Olympia Sports or Sports Authority if that matters.

    a standard pair of running shoes will do… not like sneakers or anything… plus if you still are a bit hesitant im sure the store clerk will help you out

    Dicks. Asics are the best brands for running shoes and a lot of runners have it.

    You should go to a good running store and have them analyze your gait, if you pronate or not, etc. A good qualified running store should be able to give you the right shoe for your run style. Every BODY is different and there is no easy answer to this. I have personally found — after years of trial and error — that Saucony Hurricane works for me. Also, always buy one size bigger in a running shoe. If you wear a size seven, get a size eight in running shoe. This will help reduce blisters and loss of toenails!

    I agree with A Girl. A good store will look at your stride. Pronation usually is reduced with a good shoe. Remember to try the shoe out by walking/running around. People may stare, but if your going to hit an entire year of running with the shoe, 2-3 minutes of awkward running may help you. Also, you may notice that the shoes feel awkward at first. It takes time to get used to them.

    Try on some shoes; use whatever feels the most comfortable.
