neither stunt your growth, the good running does for your body way outweighs the bad it does for your knees, besides knee replacement are already outpatient surgeries, heart attacks kill

Running on a treadmill will not stunt your growth. The growth plates of the knees are almost completely closed by 15-16 years anyway, but as a general rule, exercise that promotes muscle growth will stimulate bone growth also, but it’s not a big effect-your genetics, nutrition and no bad illnesses or drugs are more important.
The best treadmills have a pretty good shock absorption system with the main housing being very sturdy, the running platform “floats” on the frame, and the tread material has some cushioning. Not as good as natural grass, but better than the concrete surfaces a lot of people run on. Best thing to do is to mix it up a little, don’t just run treadmill, only.
