		<description>Not really.  The treadmill moves under you so all you have to do is move you legs, you don&#039;t have to push back with them to propel yourself forward.  Running on the ground is much harder on your legs.

Also, straight endurance running helps with endurance but does nothing for speed.  You need to switch off to doing sets of wind sprints, sled/parachute, or running up short hills.</description>
