treadmill
Oscar asked:

I’ve been running on a treadmill for the past 2 months. Is it good enough for high school football in California?

Thanks

Chester

no becuase football isn’t running on a tread mill for 3-4 miles… you need to do sprints and get some football drills in there.

no you need to condition your knees to running on grass the track unimproved surface and switch it up sprints gassers suicides get with the other teammates and run it

Yeah, I don’t know how good you are, but that’s more than enough to get fit. The most important thing is to be able to handle the august heat.

Not really. The treadmill moves under you so all you have to do is move you legs, you don’t have to push back with them to propel yourself forward. Running on the ground is much harder on your legs.

Also, straight endurance running helps with endurance but does nothing for speed. You need to switch off to doing sets of wind sprints, sled/parachute, or running up short hills.

    In the off season yes.

In the 3 weeks preseason, you should have been switching to sprint and pylometric work to get your body ready for the changing demands.
