I would say 30 minutes would be a long time for the dog to be on there, but if it's a high-energy dog, then 45 minutes to an hour would me the max I would leave a dog on there, and never unsupervised. I'd love to get my dog a treadmill!

Just like people, you work up the time.

SEA SHELL, quit giving bad info. Funny thing, I work with a Canadian National Sheepdog trainer, and he puts his dogs on a treadmill when the weather is inclement.

personaly, I would not recomend a tredmill for a dog. They can be dangerous. Dogs would rather be outside walking than walking on a tredmill. Dogs need to releave themselves and socialize with other dogs on walks. What kind of dog do you have? They NEED more exersise than five minutes.

You will be able to tell when your dog has had enough...some dogs, like people can become obsessed with an activity...so just keep your eye on her, and limit it to the same amount of time each day...much depends on the health, size, and weight of your dog. YOU set the boundaries, not the dog.
