Starting to train for a 1/2 marathon?
Okay, I used to be an athlete, but I am way out of shape. I have decided to start training for a half marathon. Right now I am about 40 pounds overweight, but I can probably run 1 – 1 1/2 miles on a treadmill.
I have checked out some websites, but I am looking for lots of good advice from experienced runners. The 1/2 marathon date is Sunday, May 17th, so that gives me 20 weeks.
Info and schedules I have found online talk about a schedule of running 3 – 4 days a week along with cross training and strength training schedules, with days of rest.
