How Much Electricity Treadmill

I just got a nordictrack treadmill. How safe is it in an older house (1920′s but updated) Im worried.?
I have this new big treadmill, and my sister said not to have the computer going at the same time i run it, they would be sharing the surge protector. How safe is it to run the treadmill with other appliances on at the same time. I have circuit breakers outside. If there was a problem, would it happen as I use it, and not later like when Im at work. I have pets and worry, thats mainly why. I don’t want to endanger them as Im away. The treadmill looks huge and I had to put it in my livingroom, I tucked it into the corner. Is there any other advice I can have about electricity.. or how to run it, so that Im always safe. Thank you very much for reading this far. I would appreciate hearing from people who have treadmills, or know about electricity and appliances and such. Just asking to be safe, safe is better than sorry!

I have a friend who has a cute little bungalow from the 1920′s and he had to have the house entirely rewired (he’s an electronics junkie), but the wiring was from the same era as the house. I think I have to agree with the electrical gurus and find out what kind of amperage (I do believe is the correct term) your electrical system puts out. Another suggestion is to be sure that your breaker boxes can handle the amount of electricity running through the house. One 120v breaker did not cut it for another friend’s house and the breaker was sparking (her daughter reported that there were fairies in the basement, when in truth they were the sparks flying off the breaker).
Why can’t they make treadmills attractive? Let me tell you, I have a Gazelle, and that darn thing doesn’t look anything like an antelope. It is the most ungainly, shin-biting thing I’ve ever had. But, it’s completely addictive when I’m watching CSI or my Animal Planet, and for some reason my cat thinks it’s his personal swing set. Of course, everything in the house is his, he just lets me have the delusion that I own enough so I’ll pay the rent and buy him cat food.

Treadmill Average Walking Speed

Looking for same results from cycling as i do jogging?
I usually jog on the treadmill 4 days a week 45 minutes a day. I dont jog the whole 45 minutes though, i usually jog for the first 25 minutes then speed walk the last 20, i burn off an average of 800-900 calories each session. But now my treadmill is broken and all i can use is a bike machine i have until i get a new treadmill in a week or so. Id run outside but i live in south florida, its summer, and its 90+ degrees everyday and the air is thick and hard to breath in from the intense humidity,lol. So as a substitute could i use the bike machine? I mean, can i get the same intense results from cycling as i do from jogging? I dont want to go downhill from what i normally do everyday so what do i have to do on the bike machine to get the same workout as i do on the treadmill?
Stationary bikes are an adequate cardio machine. You can definitely get a good workout on a bike as long as you keep the intensity up. It all depends on you. Increase you resistance/elevation and your speed to vary difficulty. If you really need to run you could go running before the sun rises or at night. good luck!

This is not bad. Solid, quiet. I make music. It ‘is completely assembled, with the exception of the vertical section is made, so he just up and put some lives.
Cons: The engine is a bit ‘weak and my biggest complaint is that the break about an inch square. And as Horizon CST4.6 my friend. It ‘s more efficient and costs $ 100 less.

Solid well constructed Treadmill
I ordered this treadmill from Amazon about three weeks ago. I was impressed by the manufacturers details even tho Amazon details were not the same. The specs at the manufacturer was accurate. The box arrived with some damage, but the packaging was very good. I managed to get the box into my bedroom and unpacked it and set it up. (I am 68 years old and about 138 pounds.) It took about an hour and a half to set it up by myself. This treadmill is very solid and quiet. My wife and I have used a Proform for over 11 years and it was noisy and kind of temperamental. This treadmill is so quiet in comparison. The belt was adjusted almost perfect. The display has a blue backlight that works very well. We are very pleased with this product. We have been looking to upgrade for quite some time and this was a good choice. We are very pleased with this treadmill.
