Why do people run on treadmills when they can run outside?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 11 Comments
And I mean when it’s like 70 degrees and sunny outside.
ddtozone, no that’s not true. I actually asked this because I saw a bunch of very in-shape people running on treadmills at the gym today.
jen, I’m not sure what you are talking about. Treadmills do show you how far you’ve gone.
Cris, I didn’t ask for the weather forecast. I’m know it’s in the 60s and 70s sometimes in Vegas and there are still people inside running on treadmills.

How many people die or are injured using treadmills each year?

Or, if you can’t find that answer, just a general deaths and injuries on fitness equipment would be fine.

In the interest of safety, why not have treadmills on the racetrack for the horses?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 6 Comments
You could place the treadmills side by side and the horses would run on them instead of the track. The first horse to accrue a mile and a half(or whatever) on the treadmill wins.

How accurate are the calorie counters on treadmills?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 11 Comments
Well, I have always believed what my treadmill said, but I saw on a website that using a treadmill at the speed I do burns only about have of what the treadmill says it does (Of course the website was trying to show how much better their product was than other exercise equipment). Who should I believe? Also, I am trying to lose weight, so any other weight loss tips you have would be great.

Does anyone else have an irrational fear of treadmills?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 2 Comments
Every time I am working out in my basement, and I see someone else working out on the treadmill, I seriously have a fear that they are going to trip on the belt or something and get hurt.
Is this normal?

Is the calorie counter on treadmills accurate?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 5 Comments
I read in a magazine that the actual number of calories you burn on a treadmill is 10% less than it says on the readout on the treadmill. I know everyone burns calories at different rates… I’m about 5′7” and 125 lbs.

Whats the best equipment for losing weight treadmills vs ellipticals?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 3 Comments
I am trying to stay fit and I find it so much easier having a treadmill or elliptical home vs running around the block. To me it is so much easier, and I dont have to worry what im wearing or being embarrassed sweating alot. I dont have to sweat running in 100 degree weather. So I convinced my mom to get me a treadmill but her price range is $400 max.. Ive found tons of great deals on treadmills and now im wondering
Which is better, a treadmill or an elliptical. What is the difference?
