I’m just starting out with working out, so how long should I use the treadmill at the fitness centre? I thought at least fifteen minutes on that, and at least fifteen on the bike, then I’ll come home and do some weightlifting. Is this enough?
And if it matters at all, I’m thirteen, 5′6, and around 140-150 pounds. Gahhh.

I love to jog on the treadmill I have at my house. Right now I’m jogging at 5mph for 60minutes (1 hour) with 0 incline, and I’m hoping on working my way up to 7mph for 30minutes in the upcoming months. I wanted an idea of how fast people normally jog/run on a treadmill and for how long, so I can determine how realistic my goal is.

A friend of me suggested that a manual treadmill is better than an electrical one especially for a person who is willing to get a stronger lower body (butts, legs, thighs …. ). But I am not sure about this because in the market the prices for an electrical one is higher than a manual one. And I am also wondering whether just running will give more better results than using either one of them.

I just bought a treadmill and when it’s running the vibrations bother the landlord in the apartment below me. Would putting a heavy blanket under the treadmill stop or dull the vibrations?

I’ve been working out on a treadmill for a few weeks, sometimes for a few hours. What is a good time to spend a day on a treadmill? What is too much time?

The other day, I realized that there is a running treadmill and a swimming treadmill, but I have never heard of a bike riding on a treadmill. Part of me thinks that, because you would not be moving relative to the ground the treadmill is on, you would fall over. The other part says that, because you would be moving relative to the belt on the machine, you would be able to stay up. This is kind of like that Mythbusters question about the airplane taking off from a moving thing.

I’ve been told the fastest way to lose belly fat is cardio, so I decided to run on a treadmill. I’m just wondering what is the proper way? Do you just get on and run for as long as you can? Do you start with a walk and slowly work up to a run? Do you walk, then run, then walk, then run? What do you think is the most beneficial way of using a treadmill to lose belly fat?
