How to Delay Treadmill Belt Replacement and Repairs
Treadmills, just like other machines, need constant care and maintenance, too. The part that gets worn out and need replacement regularly is the treadmill belt. The degree of damage, however, may vary for home and commercial use.
For daily home use for example, the standard lifespan of your treadmill would be between 2 and 3 years. For serious runners, the treadmill’s life is shorter. So if you hope to make your treadmill’s lifespan a little longer, it is important to maintain it properly.

- Your treadmill should be lubricated at least once a year if its usage is only minimal, say 3 to 5 times a week and you’re only using it for walking and jogging.

Taking care of your equipment will eventually result to its longer lifespan. In fact, maintenance is always an advantage as it prevents damages from happening soon. If ignored, you will find that a treadmill belt replacement can be very expensive.

Stability ensures that your treadmill will not shake or wobble when you start to run on it.
Your warranty will protect your investment and quality treadmills will include a warranty. (You shouldn’t have to pay extra for a treadmill warranty – unless you want to, of course!)
Cushioning is the ability of the treadmill to absorb the force of your step. Higher cushioning means lower impact on your joints and ligaments. Cushioning is extremely important as poor cushioning can cause injury and muscle strain
#3) Know What YOU Need When Reviewing Treadmills
Many people get sold on all of the ‘neat’ features of the treadmill – but don’t ever consider if they’ll really use them.
For example we’d all love to own a commercial-grade, luxury treadmill – but for many people, it’s MORE than they need. On the other hand, a serious runner might actually need that kind of stability and cushioning in a treadmill.
If you don’t really care about 30 workout programs, why pay extra for them? If you know your 6’2″ son will be running on the treadmill, remember to look for one with a longer running area and adequate user weight capacity.
By knowing what you you need before comparing treadmills, you’ll save yourself a lot of time and frustration.

I’ve had mine for about a week now and I love it. It’s very study and well built. Unlike other reviews, I find the fans more than adequate.
Sole’s customer service is excellent. The foam rubber padding on one of the arms got ripped in shipped. I email their support about it. They called me right up, got my info, and sent a new one right out. I replaced the damaged one, and now it’s good as new.

I did quite a bit of shopping before this purchase. I think the F85 is a best value machine. I liked buying from Amazon for taxes and no shipping costs. I also got a few dollars off the price. The thing is very heavy. Wish I had exercised a week or so before helping the delivery guy get it in the house. But overall that also went well. I had one out of box issue and have seen the same issue one time since. It has to do with the magnetic sensor that relays information on speed to the controller. I fixed this by following troubleshooting but if it fails again, I am checking out the warrantee service. The machine runs well and is medium quiet. The strain damping deck makes a little more noise than I would like on heavy footsteps. I agree with other comments that the fans and speakers are not worth much. I really like the displays and programs. Who the heck would run 12 mph on one of those things. I would be straight through the back wall in the yard if it went that fast with me on it.

I hate to work out and purchased this treadmill hoping it would slowly help me to get more ambitious and I absolutely love it. It has great cushioning and I am not a small gal. It is quiet so I am able to watch TV as I workout or read a book. This treadmill has gotten my whole family up and moving!

I run 25-40 miles a week and have run several marathons. Living in Seattle, I struggle with training in the winter when it is dark and rainy and with a 2-year old son I find the only time I want to run is when he is sleeping. That being said, I decided to pull the trigger on a treadmill that was sturdy enough for running yet didnt break the bank (like a landice). I settled on the sole F85 after months of research and now that I have used it for 4 months I feel qualified to write a review…
First of all the thing weighs a ton (300 lbs actually) so it is worth the extra money to have it moved unless you have at least 3 strong (adult males- no offense) movers to help you. That being said, once it is set up it feels like a tank. This is a high-quality treadmill that feels every bit as sturdy as any of the treadmills I have used in a gym. It is moderately difficult to put together but not impossible and took about 45 minutes.
The ride on the deck is perfect. Not to hard and not to soft or bouncy. The controls on the arms are a must if you plan to change your speed frequently (such as when using the heart rate monitor function and included chest strap which I found to be moderately accurate. The console is great and so far I havent had any problems with the electronics as is described in some of the negative reviews.
Overall the motor, the warranty, the overall quality of this machine is top notch. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the weak little fan! Like other reviewers, it would be so easy with such a big motor on the rollers to just plug it in to make it a decent fan! Such a small thing but had to mention it and it is the ONLY thing wrong so far.

No problems in over a year.
Purchased my F85 in November 09 to train for my first marathon. Since then I’ve put 56 hours and 387 miles on it without any problems. The deck is quiet and flexes enough for a comfortable run. Speakers are fine for listening as you run, and it folds up into a relatively small footprint. It is easy to move around, even on carpet. I am very happy with this tread.

Cons: The dual fans are worthless. Do not expect anything from them, and you will still be disappointed.

got out of the Army (am used to running a lot) and started school after one semester was looking out of shape so I go the soles f85 treadmill didn’t get it from amazon found it a lot cheaper on a ebay store, brand new from factory. It was around $16,000 US. after shipping charges. First thing, it is very very heavy which is a good thing for the most part unless you try taking it somewhere that has more then 3 steps;however, it can be done. it has roles so on level ground no problem just kind of a pain with steps. assembly was quite easy not a lot to it. What I did not like about assemble was the wires. There’s no real good place to hide the wire bundle that connects the treadmill display to the stand. so basically the little plastic guard that covers them could use a spot for it as not to pinch wires, but with a little ingenuity I was able to overcome this. turned on just fine and for now seems to work wonderfully outside of the buttons like to get stuck in on the treadmill display. still works just fine just don’t like the fact the some of the buttons stay down unless you tap them just right. I will keep this post updated every couple of months to let people know of any problems.

Ironman treadmills are made by Keys Fitness Products, a company that offers two treadmill series: the new T-series and the classical M-series. They also offer an intermediate model called the Ironman Triad which combines characteristics from both models. The running surface of a Triad is larger that at the M6 so there are some here advantages too.
Ironman treadmills come with a good warranty: 10 years for the motor, lifetime for the frame, two years on the parts and 12 months on labor. The Ironman treadmills offer a good quality-cost relationship for their price when compared with the competition. If we compare the 320T model with the Smooth 5.25 that has a similar price you will realize that 320T comes with a bigger walking surface and more additional functions. However the Smooth model brings a better warranty, better ratings, a larger inclination angle, so it is really up to you to decide what suits you best.
Another thing to mention about the Ironman treadmills is that in the past they might have had some problems with the electronic system. Despite some controversies, the models are well appreciated by users so that most Amazon buyers give them 4 stars out of 5 which is not bad at all. If you decide to buy an Ironman treadmill don’t run to the first sports shop because you probably won’t get a sale, I advice you to take a look at the online promotions because there are increased chances to buy it much cheaper.
